The Foreign Ministers discussed the issues of cooperation between the departments, integration processes, as well as the relations with European countries. In particular, the parties discussed the issue of Eastern Partnership.
Maxim Korotkin reports: The Foreign Ministers discussed the issues of interdepartmental cooperation, integration processes, interaction with international organizations and cooperation with European countries - a total of over 20 issues.
In the sphere of European cooperation, Vladimir Makei and Sergei Lavrov discussed the issue of Eastern Partnership. Both declared equal and mutually respecting cooperation with the European program, in particular in the upcoming summit of the Partnership in Vilnius.
The Ministers discussed joint political relations, both bilateral and multilateral. They agreed to develop the Union State, which will include the improvement of its structure, a number of resolutions on the work within the framework of CIS, the Customs Union and the formation of the Eurasian Union. The parties placed emphasis on the adherence to the freedom of choice of trade and political partners beyond CIS.
The Ministers also specified the combined action program for 2013 and 2014 in the whole range of bilateral and multilateral relations.
Today the Foreign Ministers coordinated the agenda of the joint board of the departments which will take place in Moscow this year.
