A detailed dialogue on Eurasian integration is held in the capital of Tatarstan. The meetings of the Eurasian Economic Union Intergovernmental Council have begun. Today, there was a discussion in a narrow format; tomorrow they will gather in a broader format to continue negotiations with participation of ministers and experts.
Not only delegations from the Eurasian Five flew to Kazan, but representatives of observer states from Cuba, Moldova and Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan were also invited to this inter-governmental meeting.
The parties discuss important things, things that determine the main areas of joint work in industry, agriculture and many other sectors. Such forums always include bilateral talks. The Belarusian delegation held talks with Tajikistan. The premiers say, there are great opportunities for cooperation. Roman Golovchenko is convinced that the countries need to be more active in creating joint products for the third countries. Interaction in the international arena is also important. The trade turnover between Belarus and Tajikistan tripled last year and passed the mark of one hundred million dollars. Recently, an intergovernmental commission met in Dushanbe, while businessmen talked at the forum.
The priorities of Belarusian-Russian cooperation were considered in detail Wednesday in the context of restoration of mutual trade and integration movement on union programs. Digitalization and IT vector are also on the list of the necessary joint projects.
The prime minister's schedule before the Intergovernmental Council meeting included a visit to Innopolis science cluster. This city is the youngest in Russia. It is only five years old. And it has the status of a science city along with Skolkovo. Belarus is also strong in high technologies, developments and successful startups, it has something to share.
Russians have been studying our High Tech Park, too, and noticed a substantial increase in exports from resident companies, as well benefits of the favorable environment for the economy as a whole.
Innopolis is a test site for nano-technologies, too. Drones, delivery robots, Internet of things. Tatarstan is ready for joint projects with Belarus, where there is a strong school of electronics and mechanical engineering.
The internal market of the economic union, electronic trade, measures to protect exports of certain goods in the territory of the five countries. These and other issues were on the agenda of the today's meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council in a narrow format as well as tariff regulation and even cooperation in space research. The positions of each party were heard.
The enlarged EEU Intergovernmental Council will gather in Kazan on April 3. The central issue will be the industrial cooperation within the Eurasian platform till 2025. Cooperation in technologies, raw materials and ideas will be considered as well, since each of the five countries has something to offer. The main thing is to find points of common interest.
