International CIS observers start monitoring presidential election in Belarusian regions

Today they visited Smolevichi, Zhodino, Borisov and other towns of Minsk Region.

Audrus Leskauskas, international CIS observer: "The objective of any international observer is to control the compliance of election with national legislation."

Long-term OSCE observers began monitoring as well.  The team includes 11 main experts and 36 observers in the region. Besides, OSCE invited 400 short-term observers for monitoring the election process. The final report will be published in 2 months.
