12 июня 2017

It is expected that the participants will be greeted by President Alexander Lukashenko. This was reported by the press secretary of the President Natalia Eismont. The basic principles of military-technical cooperation between the states will be discussed. The meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils is scheduled for Thursday.

Last time the meeting participants stated that the Organization would not be hindered by optimization, force strengthening and "adjustment" of crisis response mechanisms. In general, the CSTO has been operating since 2002 on the basis of the Treaty signed in the 1992. Today, the bloc includes six states Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. That is a significant part of Eurasia. Members of the organization represent three regions at once: Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia. And in each of them there are difficulties in ensuring security.

Ensuring regional stability and peace in the Eurasian space will be discussed within the framework of the CSTO, and within a month Minsk platform will become a place where OSCE parliamentarians will meet.
