18 ноября 2019
Observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe presented their preliminary report on the results of monitoring the parliamentary elections in Belarus. As Margareta Söderfelt, Special Coordinator and Head of the OSCE Short-Term Observer Mission, stated, the Belarusian people guarantee the legitimacy of the elections.
Margareta Söderfelt: “Legitimacy is not guaranteed by an international organization. It is guaranteed by the people themselves. We are here to promote transparency and strengthen the electoral processes in Belarus. We hope that our observations will be adopted in a constructive manner and will contribute to the strengthening of the electoral system and the successful holding of further elections. This is extremely important for us. Belarus is a state member of the OSCE."

The mission representatives voiced a number of comments. The final report will be presented later.
