Lukashenko: Belarus ready to resume constructive cooperation with Canada for the benefit of the two countries

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the people of Canada on the national holiday - the next anniversary of independence of the state, BelTA reports with reference to the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"This year diplomatic relations between our countries are 30 years old," noted the head of the state. - "For the last decades a number of joint projects in humanitarian and educational spheres, in economy, science and sport have been implemented despite the political environment."

"We are very grateful to ordinary Canadians, who gave a helping hand to Belarus after the Chernobyl accident in Ukraine and took hundreds of Belarusian children from the affected regions to their families for recovery," said the President.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that interpersonal contacts and friendship, hardened by time, would be stronger than sanctions and would make Canadian politicians to return to a normal dialogue.

"The Belarusian side is ready to resume constructive work for the benefit of our peoples," said the head of state.

The President wished all the people of Canada peace, well-being, prosperity and confidence in the future.
