According to Lydia Yermoshina, a high competition is recorded in Minsk, more than 6 candidates per seat. However, in some regions the situation is the opposite. Thus, more than 50% of the districts in Grodno Region are non-alternative. So there will only be one candidate for deputies. This region was not active at the first stage of the campaign, although there were no refusals to register initiative groups.
Lydia Yermoshina, the Chair of the Central Commission of Belarus for Elections and Republican Referenda: "I'm afraid that we would have districts, where there would not have been a single applicant. We have such a consumer attitude, on the one hand the population demands us, give us good deputies, but good deputies do not come from abroad, they live among you, push yourself, push out those good people you know, just many do not want to work, do not want to work for free."
