Collective security, cooperation with the UN, CIS and SCO to be discussed by CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers in Minsk

19 июня 2023
Minsk will host a meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers. The event will be chaired by Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik.
The foreign ministers of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan will discuss the state and prospects of the international and regional situation, as well as its impact on security in the CSTO countries. Cooperation of the CSTO with other international organizations - the United Nations, the CIS and the SCO - will also be discussed in detail.
The global crisis in international relations is accompanied by a series of local conflicts. Preserving peace and stability in the CSTO area of responsibility is one of the priority tasks set by Belarus for the period of its presidency in the Organization. Alexander Lukashenko called for consolidation and the search for common ground at his meeting with the secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils.

The CSTO is making a considerable contribution to the formation of a new security architecture in the Eurasian space. A decision has been made to pay special attention to hybrid forms of confrontation. Information and analytical activities within the Organization will be strengthened to implement these tasks.
