Signature collection campaign heads into homestretch

The campaign on collecting signatures for the nomination of presidential candidates is heading into homestretch with five days left for the initiative groups to collect at least 100,000 signatures for their candidates and submit the signature sheets to executive committees.

Tomorrow, Central Election Commission Chair Lidia Yermoshina will meet with head of the CIS observation mission Sergei Lebedev to discuss issues related to organising the mission’s work in Belarus. Also, Sergei Lebedev is planned to visit the Dzerzhinsk election commission.

The CIS mission will include a group of observers from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. The elections are also expected to be observed by PACE and OSCE missions.
