Election commissions in Belarus today completed the receipt of documents from candidates for deputies who intend to run for local councils.

January 8 was the last day, when the nominee or his representatives could submit documents required for registration to the territorial, district commission. By the way, in the upcoming local elections on February 18, according to the experts' comments, the number of voters will also increase.

Today in Minsk they discussed how to attract Belarusians to polling stations, and presented a mobile application that will not only help find the number of the polling station, but also will lay a route to it. Also, the Center for Sociological and Political Studies at the Belarusian State University will conduct a survey on topical issues, in which residents of the Central District count on the assistance of future deputies.

Tomorrow the members of the commissions will begin checking and registering candidates to local Councils of Deputies. Registration will last until January 18. Then the pre-election campaign starts, which will be held until February 17. On the next day, February 18, local elections will be held. A total of just over 18,000 mandates will be distributed.
