Belarus is enhancing the role of the Security Council. The authority of the collegiate body should be commensurate with the risks and threats our country is facing now. This was stated by Alexander Lukashenko at the Security Council session at the Palace of Independence Tuesday. The head of state drew special attention to the openness of the Council's work. The society should see and understand all the decisions of the Security Council.
It also became known that the State Secretariat of the Security Council will be given the status of a government body. It is envisaged by the new edition of the Security Council regulations. The last version of this document was adopted back in 2000, since then there has been a need to update it. The regulations will be finalised within the next month.
