Head of State votes today

Alexander Lukashenko voted for the candidate to parliament in the 506th polling station at the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture.

The President was met by our gymnasts - champions - Arina Tsitsilina and Anna Shvayba. Alexander Lukashenko warmly greeted the election commission, called them "soldiers of the visible front", handed flowers and went to the polling booth.

Journalists call this polling station "number 1" - special attention of the media is driven to it. About 100 reporters, including foreign ones, gathered there. And the President was literally bombarded with questions! Alexander Lukashenko answered everything, identified the tasks of the parliament and explained his motivation when choosing in favor of one of the candidates.

The conversation highlighted political culture, elections and observers. The President expressed his opinion about the provocations during the election campaign.

The Belarusian leader answered questions of journalists for more than an hour. Themes were very diverse: from successes in agriculture to the most important aspects in the state’s foreign policy. The relations between Belarus and Russia, deepening integration, developing dialogue with the West were touched upon. Alexander Lukashenko talked with observers and members of the election commission. He also presented a gift with delicious chocolate to the woman who came to vote.
