The political allegations of haters and aggressive neighbors have once again been stumped by weighty arguments. The IAEA sees no reason why BelNPP shouldn't work. This was stated by IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi in the European Parliament, as he was answering the question of a European Parliament deputy from Lithuania.
Rafael Mariano Grossi, IAEA Director General: "We found both good practices and things that need to be improved, but I want to say a very important thing. We have not found any reason why this plant should not work. We provide expertise and consulting services. The European experts worked in Belarus."
According to the head of the IAEA, the international body will continue working in Belarus to ensure the nuclear safety.
