US diplomats have expressed their will to participate in monitoring the local elections in Belarus. As a rule, international observers are not invited to local elections. But foreign diplomats accredited in Belarus can conduct short-term observations. As for funding, the cost of local elections will be reduced by 10%.
The elections of deputies to local councils in Belarus will be held on 18 February. Early voting will start on 13 February. Tomorrow, candidates can start their election campaigns – speaking in the media, holding rallies, and talking to voters about their manifestos.
