7 сентября 2017

Amid growing regional turbulence the 10th international conference the Future of the Eastern Partnership is taking place in Minsk today. International experts appreciate the peacekeeping initiatives of Belarus, including the organization of negotiations on peaceful settlement in the Donbass. This was stated today by program director for Belarus of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Wolfgang Zender, who took part in the tenth international conference.

One of the main tasks of diplomats and analysts is to develop recommendations for the forthcoming summit of the initiative. It will be held in November in Brussels. The EU project aims at rapprochement of the European Union and six post-Soviet countries: Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

Today experts sum up the intermediate results and recall the main failures over the past years. They evaluate whether the Eastern Partnership has become a full-fledged platform for the development of the EU relations with partners.

In the near future a business forum will be held in Tallinn. It will be attended by more than 30 representatives of Belarus, including small and medium-sized enterprises.
