Belarus - Hungary: Prospects for Cooperation

Belarus is an important strategic partner for the European Union and is a bridge to strengthening the relationship between the EU and the EAEC. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Péter Szijjártó during the meeting with the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Vladimir Makei. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary noted that Hungary is interested in strengthening relations between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union, and here Belarus is a kind of bridge, especially during its presidency in the EAEC. And Belarus is also an important strategic partner of the European Union. Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus pointed out that the most promising areas of our cooperation are construction, pharmaceuticals, nuclear power, agriculture, credit, financial and banking, tourism and innovation. The flagship project of bilateral relations is the joint production of electric trains Stadler, which will run on suburban railway lines of Hungary.
