Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov has met with Robert Fico, the Chairman of the Government of the Slovak Republic. The Belarusian Prime Minister noted that Belarus counts on Slovakia's assistance in developing cooperation with the European Union. As a result of the meeting, an agreement on cooperation in science and technology was signed. Also, the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus and the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing signed a memorandum.

According to Andrei Kobyakov, the current visit of the Belarusian delegation was a fruitful continuation of the dialogue that was established earlier in November during the first official visit of the Slovakian Prime Minister to Minsk.

The Belarusian Prime Minister also added that together with his counterpart, they discussed a wide range of issues regarding cooperation between the two countries, primarily trade and economic cooperation, as well as cooperation in pharmaceuticals, energy, waste utilization, and agriculture. The two parties also agreed that the work at the intergovernmental and interdepartmental level should be activated through the Belarusian-Slovakian trade and economic cooperation commission.

Andrei Kobyakov’s official visit to Slovakia ends on 28 April.
