A meeting of the CEI Parliamentary Assembly will begin in Minsk in the next few hours. This year, Belarus presides at this forum for the first time. The theme of the event is digital technologies in terms of ensuring geopolitical security.

Wolfgang Gerstl, the head of the parliamentary delegation of Austria: "We are very pleased to be in Belarus now and we are glad that Belarus is taking the initiative to develop cooperation between different countries. The modern world is a world of globalization. Therefore, all countries face the same problems to one degree or another. On the one hand, digital technologies are becoming a very important aspect of our life and provide many opportunities. On the other hand, they can be a threat. We must work for the development of digital technologies, and combat cybercrime, and develop an appropriate legal and regulatory framework for digital technology."

The Central European Initiative is an interstate forum set up in 1989. Today, the organization includes 18 countries. In fact, today the CEI links the European Union and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
