1 октября 2019

Speaking at the EAEU summit today, Alexander Lukashenko positively assessed the development of cooperation between the Union and third countries. The meeting was  attended by the President of Moldova, the President of Iran and the Prime Minister of Singapore. Free trade zones of the EAEU are currently being established with these states. In addition, the heads of state approved the concept of forming a common financial market. It will be the basis for ensuring the free flow of capital and services. In the opinion of the President of Belarus, the organization of such a market should be associated with digitalization: it will allow to develop advanced financial technologies and make the whole range of such services more accessible.

The agenda of today's summit included a dozen and a half issues, including the elimination of exceptions and restrictions within the Eurasian Economic Union. In addition, the number of barriers is growing - there are already 19 of them, despite the road map accepted. Alexander Lukashenko urged the other states to work more actively on this issue.

Much remains to be done, including within the framework of our  chairmanship of the association, which is to be transferred to our country next year. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Belarus is seriously preparing for this period. In addition, in 2020, Minsk will host the Eurasian Economic Forum.

Alexander Lukashenko also held bilateral negotiations with the President of Kazakhstan today. According to the Belarusian leader, our country has prepared proposals for its trading partner to enter the capital of major enterprises.
