Belarus interested in participating in Central European Initiative

Belarus does not plan to become a member of the European Union, but is interested in participating in its initiative. This was announced today by the Deputy Foreign Minister at the European Union and Eastern Partnership forum devoted to the approaches to regional cooperation. Oleg Kravchenko adds that Minsk and the EU intend to begin negotiations on a basic agreement. The Deputy Secretary General of the CEI notes that the chairmanship of Belarus in the association made a positive balance in the activities of the organization.

The forum is held in Minsk on the eve of the summit of the Central European Initiative at the level of heads of government and key ministers.
