Belarus called the UN to abandon intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles. As noted the Foreign Minister of our country, speaking at the 74th General Assembly, Minsk supports the rapid elaboration of a declaration on the non-placement of such missiles in Europe and the refusal to produce them.

Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus: "In August, the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles was terminated. The Treaty, which was one of the most important elements of the modern disarmament architecture and symbols of the end of the Cold War. This will inevitably lead to increased tension, a new round of political and military confrontation, and an increased risk of nuclear apocalypse. That is why we advocate urgent joint actions to preserve the achievements of the Treaty in our common home, in the European space.

In addition, Minsk urged the UN countries to take measures to ensure international information security: There is a need to enhance interstate digital cooperation. It can become the basis for developing international rules for responsible behavior in virtual space.
