Belarus’ Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko and Ecuador’s Security Coordination Minister Cesar Navas have signed a memorandum on cooperation in risk and emergency prevention today. The proposal was made by Belarus last June during humanitarian aid delivery to the earthquake-affected areas of Ecuador. The interaction implies experience exchange, staff training, equipment purchase and the possibility of carrying out joint rescue operations.
According to Cesar Navas, Belarus and Ecuador have a lot of common interest areas, such as fighting terrorism, drug trafficking and human trafficking and ensuring road safety. The Coordination Minister has held a number of meetings, including with Belarus’ State Security Secretary and representatives of law enforcement agencies’ departments. Visits to the Emergency Response Centre, Civil Protection University and the Emergencies Ministry Aviation unit are scheduled to take place today.
