Belarus is working proactively to reach the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined by the UN. According to Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund Natalia Kanem, together we can make the world a better place by 2030.
In Stockholm, the Forum on Gender Equality is taking place where participants are discussing the global plan for preserving peace and stability on the planet. Belarus is fully committed to this plan as well and has a national council and a coordinator for the achievement of the SDGs.
The achievements of this country in implementing the Millennium Development Goals have already been noted by the UN. Belarus has the lowest level of maternal and infant mortality, as well as a high level of education.
The Stockholm Forum on Gender Equality brought together about 600 politicians, representatives of international organizations, public organizations and mass media from over 100 countries. In the format of panels and round tables, speakers from a variety of regions share their experience, raise issues of health care and education and discuss the topic of gender equality and how to combat all kinds of discrimination.
