A long-awaited event for the residents of Grodno. The bridge across the Neman was opened there today.  Now it is the highest bridge in Belarus – 32.5 meters above the water level. The opening ceremony had to be postponed due to severe elements, which hit the region a couple of weeks ago.

However, it has been raining all day long in Grodno, so it was as if nature itself insisted on the event to be held in such weather. As promised, the head of state arrived at the opening ceremony. The fact of bad weather did not tarnish either the reputation of the event or of those who took part in this big construction site. This bridge is a special pride for them, and this day will go down in history of the whole country. It is doubly significant, because the landmark date was achieved in time.  The new bridge became a gift for the residents of the region on the anniversary of the liberation of Grodno Region from the Nazi invaders.

Initially, the bridge was a railway bridge, built now it is part of the new big ring around Grodno. The bridge is about 240 meters long and 17.5 meters wide. There are two lanes of traffic in each direction. The green light for cars was given today and public transport will be available tomorrow.

Later the head of the state gathered at a meeting of the regional executive committee. The meeting was focused on the issues of the day. It was devoted to the resistance to the sanctions policy. First of all the officials of absolutely all ranks are encouraged by the President to the maximum result in the economy.

It's not easy for farmers at any time. Now, despite the rain, it is a hot season for them. We need to reap the harvest on time and without losses. Grodno Region Governor Vladimir Karanik reported on the progress of the harvesting campaign in the region and the development of agriculture and the agro-industrial complex. Exports are growing, so it is the best proof that our products are in demand in foreign markets.
