A draft of the relevant agreement has already been submitted by the Russian side. But the Presidents have agreed to work out the final approaches to the next meeting within the EAEU. Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko told journalists about this after the closed part of today's summit.
Igor Petrishenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus:
The task is to submit an agreed document for discussion at the level of heads of state. This will be done in autumn at the next meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The single market should work, we must implement the provisions set out in the program ending 2025. These deadlines are included in the development strategy of our union, as well as in other policy documents that were adopted before. Therefore, the task is to reach an agreement as early as possible.
Among other important aspects of joint work is food security. It is important to remove controversial points and discrepancies, the Belarusian President urged.
