Strengthening integration ties in the post-Soviet space in the current realities has become inevitable! Alexander Lukashenko stated this today. The President took part in the CIS summit.
Belarus has always acted as an adherent of integration mechanisms. This is one of the tools for ensuring regional stability. In the post-Soviet space, there are still unresolved conflicts, like the confrontation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the internal contradictions in Bishkek, the turbulent situation in the Armenian capital, the activity of militants on the border with Tajikistan. External threats need to be confronted together. And the CIS platform contributes to the cohesive actions of the participating countries. The position of Belarus is unchanged: the CIS has great potential! To reveal it is the task of the Belarusian chairmanship in the Commonwealth next year. Minsk is taking chairmanship from Tashkent.
The CIS retains the status of the largest integration in the post-Soviet space. Close allied relations between Minsk and Moscow, as well as the Eurasian Union have been built on its foundation. The level of interaction in these associations is an example for the CIS, Alexander Lukashenko is sure. The focus is made on deepening integration through the Commonwealth.
