A. Lukashenko: We need solidarity and unity more than ever

29 мая 2021

Acting together to solve regional problems, fighting against coronavirus and strengthening the common economy was discussed  at the meeting of the President with the heads of the delegations, who arrived to Minsk to attend the session of the CIS Council of Heads of Government. CIS confirms its viability in difficult times. Alexander Lukashenko said that no technical means of communication can replace real communication. Moreover, there are enough issues to discuss. A serious argument in favour of integration is a purposeful work of external forces against the Commonwealth. It's easier to confront global challenges together.

President meets with heads of delegations of CIS Council of Heads of Government

Our President called on the CIS countries to open up to one another more actively and to restore transport links, which have been restricted by the pandemic. By the way, in spite of the attitude of western countries, by agreement of Lukashenko and Putin, the issue of assistance to citizens of western countries and Ukraine in vaccination is being worked out (there is such a request from people). An invitation was also voiced by our President for all heads of CIS countries to come to Belarus in the autumn. The summit of the Commonwealth leaders will be timed to an important date, the 30th anniversary of the association.
