А. Lukashenko: There's a hybrid war going on against Belarus, we have to wait for nasty tricks from any side.

The main electoral campaign in Belarus is approaching its final, with three days left until the elections. It is always a difficult period for any country. But, frankly speaking, in Belarus, the nervous background is artificially created around it. Technology is on the move, the information space is filled with fakes. Any fiction is instantly replicated by telegram channels, other social networks and messengers. There are calls for harassment on the Internet, personal information is published, and insults and threats flow. Protecting people, including those involved in the election campaign, was discussed at a meeting of  the President  with the police, prosecutors, the Investigative Committee, the KGB and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.  Coordinated action by all security headquarters is particularly important now. People must be protected, all attempts at provocation and mass fighting must be stopped.
Recently, there have been provocations, lies and insults to all branches of power, direct threats to the staff of election commissions and police. It became clear that additional measures were needed to ensure security in the near future.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:  "All those who have insulted, intimidated civil servants, military personnel, members of election commissions, and I particularly emphasize that employees of the power vertical must be held accountable as required by our laws and Constitution. I have repeatedly said that we have enough resources to protect the people of the state, who today actually work for the country free of charge".

Recent events have made people more attentive to the issue of their own and public security. Detention of militants near Minsk and reports that a criminal group may still be engaged somewhere in our country have found a response among Belarusians. People care calling, paying attention to suspicious strangers, ownerless objects. These fears are not exaggerated. The other day the President said that there was information about another detachment moving south. However, these are not the only attempts of this kind aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus"We have a lot of people detained across the country, who set a direct goal to destabilize the situation in Belarus. There's a hybrid war against Belarus, we must wait for nasty tricks from any side. Therefore, rely on our people, on the Belarusians. And this early voting, the fact  that people went to vote early, says that people clung to this piece of land and do not want to lose it".

Some of the detained militants were involved in hostilities in Donbass.
The day before in a telephone conversation with Vladimir Zelensky our President also discussed the issue of the detained militants. Some of them took part in combat operations in Donbass. The Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating these facts. Law enforcement bodies will cooperate within the framework of international agreements signed with Russia and Ukraine.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus: "We have Belarusian laws. They committed violations in the territory of Belarus. We will act exclusively on the basis of laws and humanity. The laws don't provide for everything. The human factor has yet to be taken into account. And we're going to solve this problem. There should be no politicization".

The President instructed to assess the legality of alternative vote counting initiatives in the elections

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus"Another topic that came up is the alternative counting of votes on election day. It's the same as the previous questions. Both the Prosecutor’s  General's Office and the courts should assess the legality of such initiatives. In any case, all those who will vote, we must be given an opportunity to do it calmly, festively, without fear of attacks and interference in a personal choice. I monitor the voting situation very closely. We must ensure this process. Some people keep calling for Maidan on August 9 and 10. God forbid we make a fire in the center of Minsk and all over the city. We can't and won't let that happen."

Peace and tranquility of Belarus - everyone's contribution

Usually, when going to their business, for a walk, a movie or a concert, many people do not think that right at these moments thousands of people do not have such an opportunity. Our treasure - peace and tranquility - is taken for granted. Whether we want to preserve our greatest values depends on the decision of each of us.
