Large-scale celebrations will be held in Zhirovichi from May 18 to 20 to mark the 550th anniversary of the discovery of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Zhirovichi and the 500th anniversary of the monastery. It hosted a meeting of the organizing committee on the preparation of anniversaries today. The committee is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko. Spiritual hierarchs and leaders of secular institutions gathered together. The anniversaries of spiritual shrines will not be limited to three May days.

The restoration of the ancient monastery belfry will be completed by May.
