Russian military participants in the "Zapad-2021" exercises leave the Belarusian training grounds. The first echelon with weapons and military equipment departed from the loading station Brest-Yuzhny. The units will make marches in a combined way, covering the distance from 800 to 1200 kilometers. At the same time, the engineering staff began to prepare aviation for the flight to the airfields based in the Russian Federation.
In total, up to 200 000 personnel, about 80 aircraft and helicopters, 760 units of military equipment, including 290 tanks, 240 guns, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars, as well as up to 15 ships, were involved in the exercises in the territory of Belarus and Russia. The final return of the military to the points of permanent deployment is planned until mid-October.
