Winners of Prize For Spiritual Revival announced

The winners of the prestigious national award For Spiritual Revival and the holders of special prizes of the President of Belarus have been announced.

During Christmas holidays prizes are traditionally awarded to humanitarian workers - cultural workers, art masters, clergymen and social workers - all those who make a special contribution to the affairs of charity, whose work promotes the ideas of humanism. The decrees on awarding prizes were signed by the Head of State today.

Following the results of the past year, among the laureates of the award For Spiritual Revival are authors of music and lyrics Yulia Bykova and Yevgeny Aleinik for the embodiment of the theme of the small homeland in modern pop art. The prize was awarded to teams of the Biblical Commission of the Belarusian Orthodox Church and the Section on the Translation of liturgical texts and official documents of the Catholic Church for translating from the original languages ​​and publishing books of the New Testament in the Belarusian language, which contributes to the multiplication of spiritual heritage. The high award was given to the collective of the children's hospice and the Vesnovo orphanage for disabled children. The President’s special award to cultural and art workers was given to the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Armed Forces of the country and the staff of the Belarusian State Choreographic Gymnasium College. Among the winners of the award are also the collective of the Postavy territorial center of social services for the population and the folk family ensemble Svayakі from Volkovysk. The presidential special prize was awarded to People’s Artist of Belarus Viktor Manaev and to title holder of Miss Belarus 2018 and Miss World Europe Maria Vasilevich.

Among the laureates are athlete Olga Mazurenok, famous sports journalist Boris Gersten, coach Irina Baranovskaya. The solemn award ceremony will take place on the days of the great feast of the Nativity of Christ. Traditionally, it will be held on the stage of the Palace of the Republic.
