Belarus plans to build 21.4 million square meters of housing in five years. This was reported to journalists by Deputy Head of the Department of Housing Policy Regulation of the Main Department of Construction and Housing Policy of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction Yekaterina Artyukh.
"The state pays great attention to the development of individual housing construction. It is reflected first of all in Directive No. 8, according to which individual housing should constitute no less than 40% of the total volume of commissioned housing annually. This target is being met. For example, in 2020 it was 42%, and in 2021 it will be 44%. Minsk and Brest regions are the leaders in the construction of individual housing. This year the task for the construction of individual houses is set at least 1.68 million square meters. It is expected that it will be fulfilled. The construction of 1.72 million square meters is scheduled for 2023," said Yekaterina Artyukh.
During the five years Belarus plans to build 21.4 million square meters of housing in general, including not less than 8.9 million square meters of individual housing.
"Integrated individual development is a justified way of building, it saves time and effort and prevents the construction of long-term. And the appearance of our settlements becomes more beautiful, the design concept can be respected. Such houses are provided with engineering infrastructure in a timely manner. It all depends on the desire of citizens, whether they want to live in a house built according to an individual project or in a complex development, where all the houses have the same parameters and appearance", said the representative of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture.
