Belarus will proudly celebrate the main national holiday in a few days. MES will reserve forces and means to ensure safety on Independence Day, while the police ask citizens to arrive in advance for the festivities. Drunken people are traditionally not allowed to the public events. It is recommended to come with small hand luggage. Checkpoints will be equipped with storage lockers, where one can leave things. Traffic will be limited in certain areas of the roads. The Ministry of Emergency Situations will also work in reinforced mode.
Anatoly Balyabin, deputy head of the main directorate of emergency services and emergency response of MES of Belarus:
All forces and means that are planned to be involved to strengthen security during the Independence Day celebrations will be activated from the reserve. This will not affect the level of population protection, which is provided in day-to-day mode. Particular attention will be paid to the events that will be held in Minsk, Minsk District, and regional centers. There will be patrols in the areas adjacent to each venue of the events, while fire trucks will be deployed at the sites of the festive fireworks.
Sergei Mironchik, head of law enforcement of the main department of law enforcement and prevention of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus:
Observance of law and order is a guarantee of personal and public safety. Police officers will crack down on any unlawful acts. In general, the Interior Ministry is ready to carry out their tasks during the Independence Day celebrations. The personnel are focused on quality service, as well as comprehensive assistance to citizens in any conditions.
