On August 13, the waterfowl hunting season in the National Park "Braslav Lakes" will start. It will end on the second weekend of December. During this period it's allowed to hunt wild duck, a bit later goose, hazel-grouse and partridge will be hunted.

"The national park begins preparations for wild duck hunting in advance. Already in the spring, artificial nesting sites are being installed on the marshes to create favorable conditions for hatching wild duck chicks. This is necessary, among other things, to protect the bird's clutch from predators - foxes, raccoons, as well as birds of prey. Prior to the hunt, gamekeepers bring waste grain to the bird habitats and thus feed the birds. By the middle of August wild ducks have already had time to breed. That's why it is already possible to hunt them," Sputnik quotes Sergey Tanana, head of the department of hunting in the National Park "Braslav Lakes".

Duck hunting tours began to be organized after wild boar hunting was banned in 2014. This year, all wild duck hunting tours are sold out by Russian tourists. Tourists from Russia are attracted to Braslav Lakes by comfortable accommodation, professional jaeger service, good transport logistics and attractive price. For two or three days of the duck hunting tour the Russians are ready to pay about thousand dollars. The cost of one day of duck hunting for a Belorussian is 12 rubles and for a foreigner - 200 rubles.
