Belarus is not going to attack anyone, but if necessary, the uniformed agencies are ready to fight back, said Alexander Volfovich. Now Belarus is developing a new tool to strengthen the protection of the country. This is people's militia. "Disposition" project tells about rapid response options.
"Disposition" is on the air. This is Gagarin. Let's go. While this news edition is being recorded, something not particularly tolerant may happen. However, such documents as the National Security Concept are adopted precisely for a prompt response to any threats. This week, the head of state instructed to inscribe in it as openly as possible all the challenges that the republic may faces and should deal with in the future. Measures to neutralize these threats will also be specified. By the way, we are not pioneers in this open approach. The United States considers it quite democratic to specify the enemies almost by name in its global documents. The friend-or-foe system is stated rather brutally there. And anyway, the thing the U. S. writes are simply outrageous. For example, the national security strategy states that "Russia seeks to establish the spheres of influence near its borders, which directly contradicts the values and interests of the United States." Well, if even Moscow does not have the right to pursue its national policy near its borders, then what about Belarus? And we have our goals – the peaceful future of our country. The principles of cooperation with Russia, with which we have the Union State and common borders are also set. We will be the masters on our borders. "
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
If we are with Russia, then we are with Russia. We created a defense space, we have common armed forces with our army on the edge. There is a regional grouping. And let no one there criticize us and make of this any fakes, not even emergency statements like "Oh, Lukashenko, Russian troops and so on." And what's so surprising about that? We have said this long time ago. It's probably been 20 years since we agreed on this.
Taking into account the current situation, the system of our protection should be substantially upgraded. It should be carefully designed. The concept of national security seems to answer not only the question of how to adapt – but even more – how to use resources with maximum efficiency. As for the defense sector, there will be a thorough revision and adjustment of new tools.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
The situation is very serious. I'd even say dangerous. And we should by no means remain simple. There is no need to be afraid of anything. If it is necessary to alarm some military unit according to the norms of wartime, we must do it. If it is necessary to upgrade it so that we could see whether the people who are assigned to this unit are alive, we must upgrade it. If it is necessary to develop the territorial defense, we must do it. If we need to have people's militia and check out on the spot what kind of fighters we are going to have and what kind of weapons they should have, we must do it. The people’s militia is especially important, because it is in the process of formation. Therefore, we should not forget these things, everything should be under your control.
The bewilderment of society about the people's militia will soon be defused. The Ministry of Defense is now working on this. Every detail is taken into account. The first training with a new security link was held in the Klimovichi District.
Andrey Matiyevich, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus:
The people's militia is something new for us, and we are going to try it in practice, to see what it is like to organize a militia unit in the Klimovichi District. We are now developing regulatory and legal documents to adopt the procedure for the people's militia operation, in order not to make a mistake, and we will try to carry it out in practice now. The people's militia will consist of volunteers, people who, for some reason, did not go to the armed forces and territorial troops.
The militia will assist the internal affairs officers and monitor order in their area. The list of their functions is being specified.
Vladimir Novikov, People's Militia member:
"We represent a voluntary people's militia, the goal of a voluntary people's militia, the purpose of our formation is to help the district inspector, internal affairs bodies, military commissariat in maintaining law and order in our territory. After all, we all know that only in a peaceful state we can work quietly, raise our children, work for the benefit of our homeland.
The events of recent months, and even days, sharply inflate the value of stability. Confidence in the future is considered almost as nonsense in modern world. The law enforcement agencies of Belarus, as well as our entire society, have a lot to do to preserve their integrity. We we should step up efforts to avoid military mobilization.
Time dictates its conditions - We should step up efforts to avoid military mobilization
