Minsk development issues discussed at presidential meeting

Among the participants of the meeting, there were the mayor, an aide to the President and both Minsk officials. The agenda included the economy, security issues, the most important investment projects and development prospects of the capital.  Earlier, the city authorities were tasked to make Minsk a model comfortable and modern) city. In the capital, all processes are much faster than in the regions. That is why it is extremely important to react promptly. First and foremost, Alexander Lukashenko instructed to deal with a number of investment projects and long construction projects.

The President reminded once again that Minsk is the country's face and it should be an example to show other regions how to develop. All those responsible should be involved more actively in landscaping. The initiative of the city residents is also welcomed.  The President is waiting for decisions on the long-term construction projects in Minsk 

Alexander Lukashenko first of all mentioned the unfinished "Gazprom Center" on the site of the former bus station "Moskovsky" among such long-term constructions.  "First of all, I would like to hear the development of investment projects, which have already been launched in the city.

On the eve of the meeting with the Russian President, I would like to know what's going on there. I've already reminded him once, raised the issue at the presidential level. He had a very harsh response. But apparently Gazprom did not hear it. So if they don't want to work in this field, there must be a clear answer: yes or no.


They were talking about another long-term construction: a multifunctional hotel and business complex "Minsk Magnet" and the hotel and business complex "Chanter Hill" on the Pobediteley Avenue. 

In the north of the Belarusian capital there will be also many residential buildings and new transport infrastructure. The total amount of investment is 10 billion rubles. Discussing capital issues today, they touched upon personnel policy and issues of self-government.

An important question discussed by the head of the state was ensuring order and security in the capital. "We have to pay special attention to this. Unfortunately, Minsk was not at its best in 2020. But at the same time, it was a lesson to us in what direction we should act," said Alexander Lukashenko.

Health care issues were also discussed. The situation with coronavirus in Minsk is better than in other regions. But not everything is positive about the provision of medical care. They touched upon personnel policy and self-governance issues. The President reminded once again: Minsk is the country's face and it should be a good example of how other regions should develop. Everyone should be involved in the city improvement more actively. The initiative of Minsk residents is also welcome.
