Any country in the world should solve its internal problems independently, without any interference. This was stated today in Moscow at the meeting of Secretaries of CIS Security Councils. According to the Secretary of State of the Security Council of Belarus, we have common risks, challenges and threats, and the CIS countries should develop measures to counter external interference.
Alexander Volfovich, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus:
“Belarus as an outpost of collective security in the Eastern European region experiences, unfortunately, all the challenges and threats that affect the security, primarily of our country. First of all, the militarization of Poland is alarming. It demonstrates its aggressive intentions boosting the number of its armed forces, equipment and weapons. The Polish leadership must understand that the unleashed aggression will affect not only the territory of the Republic of Belarus, but will spread throughout Eastern Europe. It is necessary to resolve the issue in a peaceful, civilized, democratic way, to sit down at the negotiating table, to discuss the problems, to find points of contact. Yet, unfortunately, the political leadership of neighboring countries is not going to do it abrogate all international treaties, closing the Iron Curtain. The Berlin Wall, which was destroyed in the territory of Germany, has been moved today to the territory of Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Five-meter high fences are built, barbed wire is stretched.”
Nikolai Patrushev, in his turn, speaking to his counterparts, said that a global crisis is developing caused by the West's desire to impose its dominance on everyone.
Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia:
“We have all witnessed how Western-controlled NGOs, media and social networks tried to destabilize the situation in Russia, Belarus and some Central Asian countries. In response to this and as part of the fight against the export of color revolutions, we have developed a legal framework at the national level aimed at strengthening control and restricting the work of Western-controlled NGOs and media, as well as Internet resources. We consider the task of strengthening co-operation among the CIS member States in information security to be one of our priorities.”
