Vlada Karnitskaya: In spite of the complexity and seriousness of the problem, the diagnosis of "cancer" today it is not a sentence. More than 60% of oncology patients in Belarus recover at the 1 or 2 stages of the disease. The plan of physicians is to reach 70%. In addition, our country is entering an era of personalized medicine. This means that the clinics of the country have already all the necessary equipment and of course the professionalism of physicians to conduct the entire cycle of diagnosis and treatment. The Centre of Oncology and Radiology applies individual approach to each patient and, therefore, the operation is carried out by different techniques.

Yuri Grachev, head of the neurosurgical department at the Centre of Oncology and Medical Radiology: "During the operation we apply laser technology, when the stabilizers are introduced into the patient's blood and the tumor cells are destroyed by laser radiation, such clinical trials are already under way."

For Belarus, struggle with cancer is one of the most important areas in medicine. This was stated even in the decree of the President. And in the 2011 the country has launched a program to combat cancer. The new center is also a result of the program.

Modern equipment of the complex allows for the early diagnosis of cancer, neurological and cardiac diseases.

Oleg Sukonko, director of the Centre of Oncology and Medical Radiology: "Early cancer detection is a priority number 1."

Every year, nearly 40 thousand patients in the country are hospitalized with the terrible diagnosis of oncology.
