The excavation season is coming to an end at the archaeological site "Gorodishche" on the river Menka. This is a site of the historical origin of the Belarusian capital. During the work, carried out by employees of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences and volunteers, a lot of finds have been discovered. Most of them are the artifacts of the 18th century: fragments of pottery, coins. One of the latest interesting finds is a trademark of one of the inhabitants of ancient Minsk.
According to archeologists, the most valuable finds of this season are the fragments of jewelry of the late 11th early 12th century, and a china bottom with the personal coat of arms of Izyaslav Vladimirovich, the ancestor of the Polotsk dynasty.
