One of the deepest and most important holidays of the church calendar was celebrated this week around the world by Orthodox believers. The special bell toll heralded the Nativity of Christ. Festive liturgies were also held in Belarusian churches. By tradition, the President spent this bright day in the church.

Alexander Lukashenko confessed that Christmas, along with Easter, is a special and favorite holiday for him. Perhaps, because they are symbols of the great renewal of the world and joy for all. The President lit a candle at the new Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church in the capital.

The church-monument is a true symbol of the spiritual revival. Only together we can preserve the land where we live and where future generations will have to live. Only together we can walk this difficult road with dignity. Only together we can save Belarus, its independence.

The place of spiritual unity has become a place of heart-to-heart talks. Alexander Lukashenko spoke frankly about the most urgent problems. And the parishioners certainly appreciate it.

At Christmas time we light candles - a symbol of faith and love. We pause our ambitions and think not only about ourselves, but at least about our loved ones. And the situation on the planet reminds us time and time again that the main value today is peace and tranquility, which cannot be bought for any capital.
