The city had the hardest time during the Great Patriotic War. The city was rebuilt from the ashes. Literally Vitebsk was destroyed by more than 90% percent. Now it is a modern and comfortable city.
The inhabitants and guests of the city celebrate its 1044th birthday. Even the cloudy weather could not overshadow the holiday. Vitebsk celebrates its birthday on several sites at once. Among them there is the Summer Amphitheater.
