6 ноября 2020
The crossing was built in the 30s of the last century. It was repaired several times, but the structure did not undergo a major renovation. The traffic on the bridge was stopped in October 2019. To speed up the reconstruction of an important city artery, design and construction work were carried out at the same time. The width of the renovated bridge is 9 meters, the length is 270 meters. There are paths for pedestrians and cyclists. A circular movement is organized. The townspeople have already appreciated the gift.

"For our city, this is a very significant event, a very anticipated event, and it fits optimally into the entire infrastructure of this district."

Leonid Malakhovsky, Chief Engineer of MSU No. 5 of OJSC MOSTOSTROY: "By the decision of the Ministry of Culture, it was decided that the historical appearance of this property was completely preserved to keep the cultural heritage."

Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus: "The bridge was built in record time, 36 million rubles was spent. This happened since the presidential decree was adopted and the construction and design of this bridge were carried out at the same time. There was a well-coordinated friendly work."

Name of the new bridge "Pokrovsky" was chosen by the Polotsk residents. Voting took place on the Internet.
