During the festive season, nearly 500 foreign tourists from 15 countries visited the Augustow Canal Park without visas. Mostly these were tourists from Lithuania, Poland, and Germany, although there were people from Sweden, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Italy.
In the western region of Belarus, an influx of tourists is expected, since starting January tourists have been allowed to stay in Belarus without a visa for up to 10 days.
Territories for a temporary visa-free stay were expanded in the entire Grodno Region, too. There are more checkpoints for visa-free entry there now.
