Wreaths laid at Eternal Flame in honor of Independence Day of Belarus in Moscow

27 июня 2022

Peace, Victory and Independence are sacred notions for every Belarusian. Today, on the eve of Independence Day, a wreath was laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow by the Belarusian Embassy in Russia. During the Great Patriotic War more than 250 concentration camps were set up in our country, where over one and a half million people died.

Preservation of historical memory

And that is not counting those who did not return from the front. More than 200 cities were destroyed. That is why every Belarusian honors and remembers July 3, 1944, when, thanks to the successful "Bagration" operation, Minsk was liberated.

And today, when they are trying to rewrite history, Belarus and Russia are again on the battlefield. Just like 78 years ago, we are fighting for our Independence. Therefore it is especially important that the memory of the great feat of arms of the Soviet people be passed on from generation to generation.
