Tests for antibodies to COVID-19 will appear in the country's medical institutions by the end of April. This was reported today during a stream at the Ministry of Health. The lab is located in Ratomka. It took less than a week to train staff and develop new equipment.
Several more units of medical equipment were purchased to increase the number of tests conducted.
Today, it is possible to perform test for coronavirus in all regions, they are taken on the basis of sanitary-quarantine points, in infectious hospitals, in a number of outpatient clinics.
The laboratory will work around the clock. As for the coronavirus, the tests are delivered here within an hour, from a separate entrance.
Vyacheslav Kolyachko, deputy head physician of the Minsk Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health: "There are trained specialists who are provided with the necessary personal protective equipment, and there are also the required number of test systems for conducting the research."
The laboratory uses the Belarusian test system. On the average, a study takes about 6 hours. Virologists, microbiologists are attracted to work. The ests for antibodies to COVID-19 will appear in late April.
Meanwhile, during a regular briefing by the Ministry of Health today, the department specialists reported that soon, COVID-19 antibodies would also appear.
Inna Karaban, Deputy Head of the Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Belarus: "Everyone does not know whether he is infected or not, and at the same time we are going to go to our parents, elderly parents. Therefore, the Ministry of Health once again urges people to stay on weekend at home, don’t visit cemeteries in order to minimize the chance of infection for those around you."
