A monument to Belarusians living abroad was unveiled in Minsk. The solemn ceremony of opening a memorial sign was held at Troitskaya Naberezhnaya in the historical center of the city. The sculptural composition is made of bronze in the form of a wheel with a diameter of 2.5 meters, which is a symbol of movement, development and rich historical past: the wheel was among the first archaeological finds on the site of medieval Minsk. The authors of the monument are sculptor Alexander Finski and architect Armen Sardarov.
The ceremony was the first official event in the program of the third arts festival Belarusians of the World. Today the forum will be opened in the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society. The current festival brought together compatriots from 19 countries. Luxembourg is participating for the first time. The festival will last until 11 September.
