Military parade and march of youth and athletes takes place in Minsk

Alesya Vysotskaya reports: Independence Day for Belarusians is the symbol of national pride, it is a holiday which unites many generations.


The parade traditionally started near the memorial complex Minsk Hero-City where thousands of viewers gathered long before it began.


The Belarusians were greeted by President Alexander Lukashenko. The leaders of Venezuela and Laos joined the President of Belarus in the VIP tribune.


The parade featured several thousand servicemen and 150 military vehicles. The SWAT troopers from Russian were marching along the Belarusian soldiers. The audience saw a lot of unique armament such as Smerch missile complex C-300 air defense complex, many units of military aircraft. The parade was crowned by the performance of the escort of honor. The production of Belarusian enterprises was also demonstrated during the parade: MTZ, Amkodor, MAZ, BelAZ. The march of youth and athletes was also outstanding.
