A meeting of the Holy Synod is held in Minsk, chaired by Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. For the first time in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church, it is held on Belarusian soil. The key issue in the discussion of hierarchs is the position of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine. The meeting of the Synod takes place behind closed doors. The result will be a response to the decision of the Synod of Constantinople Patriarchate on granting autocephaly.
