Memorable event held at Belarusian Foreign Ministry on occasion of 115th anniversary of statesman and diplomat Kuzma Kiselev

A commemorative event was held today at the Foreign Ministry of Belarus on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of the birth of Belarusian statesman and diplomat Kuzma Kiselev, the first foreign minister of the Byelorussian SSR. The first diplomatic services of Belarus began to form with Kiselev’s efforts. He put his signature on the constituent documents of the UN. For significant contribution to the development of Soviet diplomacy, he was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner of Labour.

An exposition dedicated to the life and work of Kuzma Kiselev was presented today. Flowers were laid to his grave. His relatives, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the Association of Foreign Service Veterans and members of the Foreign Ministry’s Young Diplomats Club honored the memory of the first Foreign Minister of Belarus.
