Alexander Lukashenko and Sebastian Kurz unveiled a monument “Array of Names” in memory of the Austrian citizens killed in Trostents It was installed in the territory of the memorial complex "Trostenets", which during the years of occupation was one of the largest concentration camps in Europe. This stone has become a symbol of the common memory of our peoples about their compatriots who perished there.

The camp consisted of three zones: Blagovshchina was the site of mass destruction, Small Trostenets  was a labor camp, and Shashkovka was a place of burning. There was no infrastructure there. Just a site for destruction. Nobody came back alive from Blagovshchina. No escape  was possible. People were in the ring of fire.  In 1943, the so-called operation 1005 began to destroy the traces of mass executions. They removed the corpses and burned them.

They will not name the exact number of prisoners of one of the largest concentration camps in Europe. They were Soviet prisoners of war, underground fighters and partisans, civilians, prisoners of Minsk ghetto and Jews deported from Western Europe.

For Austria, the Belarusian memorial has become a place of national memory and grief. And that is why the visit of the Federal Chancellor Kurtz started from there.
